School begins...

10 Dec. 2018 was the date that Samyak joined a school in their Play Group colloquially known as PG. Mindseed it was!

Physical prowess...

Now he is able to climb all by himself. I have observed that if he does he rides alone in the middle of the stair, he takes one step at a time, places both his foot and then proceeds to the later. However, if there is a banister to which he has access or there is someone who holds his hand, he manages to ride the stairs like any adult by using one leg for a step.

New phrases on telephone

There are some parrot statements which he makes once anyone calls on the landline. Without asking or listening to the person who has called, he would rattle off: "Bapa Office", "Bhai School" and preceeded by "Nama Nama" apparently referring to Namaskar as is mentioned by his elder brother as is addressed by his brother.
Hope he learns only the good things from his elder brother and Sambhab also teaches him the good qualities.

Hydrophile

The official meaning of hydrophile: a molecule or other molecular entity that is attracted to water molecules and tends to be dissolved by water. I shall conveniently remove the later half and keep the first half referring to the newer love of Samyak.

He loves to drain water into multiple vessels / containers (some being glass, mugs, pressure cookers, water bottle of his brother et al). The source could be the drinking water container, taps (from anywhere, yes from anywhere), any basin, bathroom buckets; yes, from ajywhere.

This activity is extended to all containers of the washroom every time he goes for a leak. Mind you, I am not including the patting or wading of water during his bath. The containers can't just sit and contain water; water is shifted  (read poured) to another container and sometimes to a series of containers depending on the degree of freedom in his mind, point of attention of his mother and lack of other attention diverting elements in the environment. Needless to say, some leaks in the pourings and transfers ensure creation of mini to decently distinct water puddles across the area. I cannot write floor areas because puddles can be formed on newspapers, tables, bags, magazines, books, bed et al.

If the activities till now seem silly, here's more: Ferraris, bikes, planes, pencil stubs, pen caps also get a dash of wash amidst some of the water transfers.

I must confess,  I racked through Biology for getting the appropriate word and found this one closest.

Cyber damage

I have this pair of wireless mouse and keyboard for my personal computer. Though these items are being mentioned in Samyak's blog, the main reason to go wireless is however Sambhab. I had to get them to do away with the constant engagement that he used to indulge himself in after coming from school much to the displeasure of his mom who would insist him on taking some rest. The removal of the small bluetooth chip does all the magic for his mother; though, that the reason for some snubs from Sambhab some days. I am made the villian by each of them; thats however a different story altogether.

These object are some of the many which attract Samyak. of particular interest is the small mouse which almost resembles a mouse (but has he seen a real one?). He tried pulling out the left press of the mouse. It took my wife and myself atleast 4 scores of trials and manual & gentle reverse-yet-carefull presses to make it somehow workable.

Infact this blog is with the help of that slightly damaged mouse only.

New set of lovable things of the little one!

New things which I am loving about Samyak:
a. Heard that he spoke the word "tortoise" once. I am using the word heard, because I have never heard him say that. I have to beleive his elder brother and his mother.
b. There is a particular style in which he calls "Mama" at times. Infact it is like Mamaaaaa. Trust me it is so pleasing to hear that when it emanates from his mouth. This probably comes out when he is satiated on food, no one has spoken a stern word to him for some time, on the contrary all had been cuddling him, he had been having his way of toying with things around and he suddenly discovers the only lady at the house also smiling. This, by God's grace, I have heard some time. At  times on my insistence,  he makes that sound too.
c. There is a particular dance drill to which he resorts to when super excited. This is mere drumming of both the feet on the ground for say 15-20 seconds at a stretch. If the excitement streak continues, then the same would be repeated few times.
d. He has started to climb stairs himself using the bannister. It's a sight seeing the efforts taken by him to place and progress each step.
Am however eager to hear him speak atleast few words.

Innocent times!

Wet lip touches in return of kisses,
We shall miss them someday.

Single letter pronunciation in return to every new word spoken to you,
We shall miss them someday.

Only calling “Mama” and “Bapa” as two full words despite passage of 20 moons,
We shall miss them someday.

Thinking every physical object to be an eatable,
We shall miss them someday.

The glaze in his eyes when encountering a new thing,
We shall miss it someday.

Missing objects found in “horribly” wrong places,
We shall miss them someday.

Making typical faces when denied an object of interest,
We shall miss them someday.

The uncanny humming sounds which emanate when you view / hear an old B/W number,
We shall miss them someday.

The typical nodding of the head upon tasting something nice,
We shall miss that someday.

Huddling around the plates when family members eat,
We shall miss that someday.

Believing that the only way to wake up your elder son is by sitting on his chest,
We shall miss that someday.

Playing tantrums with and troubling the only companion for most hours of everyday,
She shall miss them someday.

Honing up his craft skills with the pages of books when his elder brother is reading,
We shall miss them someday.

Seeking sadistic pleasure in misplacing my bookmarks,
I shall miss that someday.

The warm hugging on to my trousers when I reach home,
I shall miss them someday.

Whatever you are and whatever you may do today,
We shall miss this part of your life someday.

Whatever you become in future and whatever you may do in future,

We can wish the best of wishes blended with His Blessings.
